Important information about your current advertisements with Sheffield Hallam University for graduate level jobs – please move to our new platform Handshake

Graduate job opportunities are being advertised via our new online platform, Handshake, from 10th of May 2021. This is free for you to use and allows you to customise your company profile to help promote opportunities across relevant student/graduate degree areas. Only our final year students and recent graduates will be using Handshake for now.

Our old system CareerHub will phase out over May to June for graduate jobs but to note not for placements and part time jobs until September.

Our sandwich placements in curriculum will stay on the current system CareerHub until we move 2nd year students onto Handshake in August 2021. We appreciate this is asking you to use two systems temporarily, but it is due to the academic cycle of the sandwich placements; so please still advertise your placements and part time jobs on unihub .

Free online vacancy advertising service

You can avoid costly advertising by using our free online vacancy service. Vacancies can be viewed by all our students and graduates so you can attract the most talented individuals.

Employer-led workshops

Deliver a workshop to a group of students on a topic of your choice and pass on your knowledge to employees of the future. This enables you to gain a better understanding of the current student and graduate market.

Previous sessions have included CV clinics, mock interviews, presentation skills and commercial awareness.

Employer presentations

You can raise awareness of your organisation to specific cohorts of students by giving an employer presentation. An effective presentation can help increase the number of applications for your graduate scheme or graduate level vacancies.

Information stands

Positioned in a central thoroughfare at the University, representatives from your company can speak to students informally about your opportunities.

Career mentoring scheme

Becoming a mentor on the career mentoring scheme allows you to share your experience and skills, giving a student valuable insight into a career in your organisation. You can also advise your student mentee how to make well informed choices about their future career.

Recruitment fairs

Promote your graduate vacancies at one of our recruitment fairs and you can reach a mass audience.


You can sponsor a banner stand or a career planning guide and reach thousands of students and graduates. Stands are used throughout the academic year at a range of promotional events, including careers fairs attended by over 4,000 students and graduates. The career planning guides go out to approximately 20,000 students in their second and final year.
