The University does not automatically takes ownership of intellectual property (IP) created by its students. If you require assignment to you of any intellectual property created by a student as part of a Learning Opportunity we ask that you you discuss this directly with the student. The IP will usually be limited to a report or survey data or other information gathered by the student and you will have the use of this without the need for the assignment. Where the IP is a patentable invention, registrable design or a copyrighted work you may wish to exploit it will be necessary for you to take the assignment in order to protect and enforce your rights.
1. Whilst we are thrilled by the opportunity to work with clients, old and new, we can't promise that all projects will be taken forward. There are a number of reasons why, but most commonly this will be as a result of student numbers, module and project concurrence or time limitations. 2. Whilst Applied Projects staff and tutors will manage projects have oversight of all projects we cannot guarantee the quality or quantity of the work produced or the suitability of the final piece of work. This is primarily a student learning experience. 3. Students can only conduct work in term time (September to December and January to April). Therefore work might slow down or pause over certain periods (e.g. holidays and examination periods).
