Privacy Notice
The privacy of our prospective students is important to us, and the University takes care to safeguard it. The General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) require organisations to process personal data in a transparent manner. For more information about how your personal data is used, please see the privacy notice for student applicants.
Please note that this scholarship is only available to students studying the MSc Strength and Coaching course. If you are studying another course, you will not be eligible to receive the TASS: Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Scholarship.
As this scholarship has a focus on equality, diversity and inclusion, the following questions are about personal information and/or characteristics. You do not need to supply this information, but it may affect the outcome of your application if you do not.
Evidence may be required (this will be indicated below), otherwise internal checks/verification will be carried out where applicable.
If you would like to expand on any of the following topics, you may do so in your personal statement at the end of this application.
Please only select "yes" to this question if all of the following statements are true:
- A letter that confirms your status as a care leaver, from your Local Authority Education Service, Social Worker or Head Teacher.
Or,
- Evidence that you received a care leaver's financial/support package during your undergraduate studies.
- A letter from Student Finance England that confirms your "independent due to estrangement" status. This would have been given to you during your undergraduate studies.
- A copy of your Residence card (front and back).
Or
- A Home Office Share Code and a letter from the Home Office that confirms your refugee status
- An up to date/current letter confirming your child benefit/Child Tax Credit from HMRC.
- Confirmation of receipt of carer's allowance.
- Confirmation of receipt of Disability Living Allowance for a child in your care.
- An up to date letter confirming that you provide care for a friend/family member, from a relevant organisation, support worker or healthcare professional.
(Please note that we cannot accept a letter from yourself, or the person that you care for)
As a guide, these are examples of the evidence students have submitted in the past:
• A personal statement telling us about themselves and their experiences.
• Screenshots of social media posts talking about their identity or coming out
• Evidence that they have legally changed their name by deed poll.
• A supporting letter from a support organisation, GP, medical professional or other professional that they have been in contact with.
This is not a definitive list, and we understand that you may not have any of these or may not want to supply any of these. Please do not feel that you must do something you do not want to do, or normally wouldn’t do, just to be able to supply evidence.
If you are under 25, please answer this question based on your parents' household income.
Although you are not required to provide evidence directly to this application, we reserve the right to make checks where possible and/or request relevant documents (such as P60) if necessary. If your household income in 2026/27 will be vastly different to 2025/26, there is an opportunity to provide extra information about this at the very end of this application form.
