What do our past ambassadors think about the job?

Rebecca Woods - HEPP Graduate Intern:

What it's like to be a HEPP Student Ambassador?

Being a Student Ambassador for HEPP is a great opportunity to develop your skills and gain experience. As a Student Ambassador I got to work with a range of audiences, such as primary school pupils, college students and parents. I also had the opportunity to work at a wide variety of events including community events, school visits and university tours. This allowed me to further develop my communication and presenting skills which I gained from my degree and enabled me to put them into practice. This role also taught me how to adapt to different audiences. The experience and skills I developed as a Student Ambassador were hugely beneficial, as without them, I would not have got the job that I now hold as a HEPP Graduate Intern.

Rachael Yeardley - HEPP Student Ambassador Coordinator:

Why become a HEPP Student Ambassador?

“Being a Student Ambassador is an extremely rewarding opportunity, not only for yourself, but for the young people you will work closely with. As an ambassador you have the opportunity to get involved with different types of activities and events, allowing you to develop the skills you already have as well as gaining new ones. You will be highly influential in a young person's decision of whether to go on to higher education. Having been a HEPP Graduate Intern, working closely with ambassadors, I would highly recommend the scheme to anyone who wants to be involved in the wider community, gain new skills and work within a fun, friendly and supportive team.”

APPLY NOW and share your enthusiasm to raise the ambitions of young people within the Sheffield community.
