We are looking for reliable and flexible individuals to join our team as Schools & Colleges Student Ambassadors. Work is available throughout the year and is flexible to fit around your studies whilst building skills for your CV.
What makes a good schools & colleges ambassador?
- Enthusiastic about SHU and their course
- A strong team player
- Has good communication skills
- Is positive, approachable and friendly
What might you do in this role?
- Run campus tours
- Give student life talks
- Help deliver subject specific events & activities
- Help on Open Days
- Help with school & college visits to the university
That's just a snap shot. Our team is always busy working with local school & colleges and the local community on events and activities through the year that you may well get the chance to work on.

You need to complete the online application form including no more than 400 words as to why you would make a good schools & colleges ambassador and any relevant experience you may already have.
Successful applicants at this stage will need to attend a training session either on Wednesday 9 November at Collegiate Campus or Thursday 10 at City Campus. The training will be around 2-3 hours and will take place late afternoon - early evening. Please express your preferred training date/time on your application form. More details will be provided.
Anything else?
Successful applicants will be asked to complete a DBS check but the cost will be covered by us.
All work will be paid from a starting rate of £6.70 per hour
